Welcome Letter to YMUN 2012  from the Secretary General Elianne Mureddu. 

To all prospective delegates ,

I am deeply proud to welcome you to our 10th annual York Model United Nations Conference held this upcoming March 1st to March 4th,  2012 .

Our dynamic conference is a one of a kind opportunity for high school students from all over the world to live, breathe and experience the life of a United Nations ambassador for four days. Not only will you be debating and solving world issues, but you will be doing so in a place where Canada’s future is determined on a daily basis by some of its most significant political leaders; in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.

Due to the great success of our 2011 conference , YMUN has decided to give this 2012 conference a unique twist.  Exclusive to YMUN 2012, is the opportunity for high school delegates to debate against  first-class university “MUN-ers”. Each one of these university students will have at least 5 conferences under their belt which will provide them the knowledge and capacity to truly challenge and engage high school delegates at any skill level.

If solving crucial international issues isn’t rewarding enough, YMUN offers a plethora of great opportunities to socialize with fellow delegates, dance to some international beats at the “delegate extraordinaire” and discover the beautiful wonders that Toronto has to offer through our annual YMUN CN Tower climb. York Model United Nations Conference 2012 promises to be not only an outstanding academic experience but also , an opportunity to develop yourself into an entrepreneurial individual with an informed International perspective.

So  for this YMUN 2012 don’t be afraid to speak up . Do it loud and hard , raise your voice .Because THAT voice brings us closer to a world where women and children are no longer abused,where people are not discriminated based on their skin color or believes and where war over resources is non- existent.
You can change the world everyday ,and if you never realized how much potential there is for change , this conference is a great start.

As the Secretary General  of the YMUN 2012 Conference I am proud to invite you to one of the most successful Model United Nations Conferences in Toronto . As such , I can assure you that whether it is your first time entering the MUN world or whether you are an expert in all things related to Model United Nations, YMUN 2012 will be a conference you will never forget.
